The Lighters, the official band of Hard Rock Cafe Punta Cana, play live every week, Wednesday to Saturday, from 9:00 pm.
The rock n’ roll four-piece is a mix of Dominican and Mexican musicians – Ruben Cruz on guitar and vocals, Lalas Enriquez Hernandez on lead guitar, Beto Ciccone on bass and Danny Mejia on drums – and has been making music and performing locally for more than a year.
The Lighters play music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The band-members had all played in other outfits before forming The Lighters, and each brings a different musical influence and interest to the band. They are continually looking for new music to play and plan on establishing a massive repertoire of songs.
They also have solo projects planned, but at the moment their collective focus is on The Lighters and on connecting to audiences through the power of music and to “Keep rocking hard,” says drummer Danny Mejia.
As well as playing at the Hard Rock Cafe weekly, The Lighters also perform a show every Sunday night at Tiara Alsol Hotel, and will take part in the next Let’s Get Indie Fest.
